Our Instruction Staff
Each TOURAcademy Instructor is a carefully selected career-teaching professional certified to the exacting standards of the TOURAcademy brand. Certification requires a commitment to the “Standards of Excellence” and a demonstrated level of expertise in instruction, fitness, and club fitting.
- Travis Fulton, Director of Instruction & Master Instructor
Travis Fulton is the Director of Instruction for all TOURAcademy locations nationwide. Fulton has been with the TOURAcademy since it opened its doors in 2001 at World Golf Village and has led the design and execution of the instruction formats and training as well as playing a key role in the overall business plan. Since college, Travis pursued his love for teaching the game beginning in the Northwest and around the country including stops in Arizona, New York, Boston and now Florida, where Fulton conducts his teaching at TPC Sawgrass and World Golf Village.
Fulton currently is ranked by GOLF Digest as a Top 40 instructor under the age of 40 and is currently the co-host of “On the Range” on Golf Channel and “Launch Pad” on Direct TV. In addition, Travis is a contributing writer for PGA TOUR.com, Golf Digest, as well as a weekly guest on the PGA TOUR Network on XM Radio. Over the years, Fulton has worked alongside some of the game’s best teachers including Scott Sackett, Todd Sones, Billy Harmon, Martin Hall, Craig Shankland, Lynn Blake and Chuck Evans. In addition, he has spent much of his career learning from the best players in the world, as well as earning certifications as it pertains to the geometry & biomechanics of a golf specific motion, club fitting, fitness and junior development.
- John Stahlschmidt, Director of Operations & Master Instructor
John Stahlschmidt has a rich and illustrious golf background both as a player and golf instructor. A native of St. Louis, MO, John played collegiately at the University of Alabama, where he was a four-year letterman and captain of the 1998 squad. After a short professional playing career on the mini-tours, in which he won a Pepsi Tour event, John turned his attention to teaching. In 2000 he joined Resort Golf Schools as a Master Instructor, and later became Director of Golf Schools at Legend Trail Golf Club in Scottsdale and Director of Instruction for ESPN Golf Schools Online Academy.
John joined TOURAcademy TPC Scottsdale in 2007 as a Head Instructor and taught there for more than six years. In his current role as Senior Head Instructor for TOURAcademy TPC Sawgrass and PGA TOUR Golf Academy World Golf Village, John oversees the daily operations at both academies. He also serves as Director of Operations for the TOURAcademy brand.
John’s current and past students include LPGA Tour golfers Paige Mackenzie and Marcy Hart, CN Canadian Women’s Tour winner Samantha Richdale, sports radio talk show host Dan Patrick, NFL players London Fletcher and Leon Hall, and five-time Arizona State Amateur Champion Ken Kellaney. John is a regular contributor to Golf Tips magazine, the Arizona Golfer, and PGATOUR.com, and is also featured on the TOURAcademy mobile app and TOURAcademy Home Edition DVD collection.
- Todd Jones, Master Instructor
A native of Binghamton, N.Y.,Todd played collegiately at East Carolina and the University of Rochester before becoming a full-time PGA member and teacher in 1995. He has been with the TOURAcademy since 2003, teaching at the PGA TOUR Golf Academy World Golf Village for several years before joining TPC Sawgrass in December 2006. As Master Instructor, Todd has been instrumental in co-developing innovative instruction programs for the TOURAcademy, helping to establish it as a leader in golf instruction.
While at the University of Rochester, Todd took lessons with legendary golf instructor Craig Harmon at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester. He also spent some time later in the golf operations side at John Jacobs Golf Schools. Todd has extensive experience working with players of all levels, including former LPGA Tour player Sophie Gustafson, current Web.com Tour player Steve Wheatcroft, and current Champions Tour players Blaine McCallister, Sandy Lyle and Anders Forsbrand.
- Jorge Parada, Master Instructor
A native of Spain, Parada has been with the TOURAcademy since 2008. Prior to moving into his current position, Jorge played a vital role in growing the Player Development and Get Golf Ready programs within the TOURAcademy, and also led schools in Costa Rica as part of the TOURAcademy International team. As Head Instructor, he oversees all operations at the Academy, including golf schools, private lessons, junior camps, and corporate events.
Parada moved to the United States when he was 18 and attended Campbell University in North Carolina, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in professional golf management from Campbell’s prestigious PGA Golf Management program. While at Campbell, he served internships at the David Leadbetter Golf Academy in Bradenton, Fla., and the Grand Cypress Golf Resort in Orlando. Jorge has spent his entire career studying geometry, biomechanics, and physics as it relates to golf performance, and is an AimPoint Certified instructor. He lists Gary Gilchrist, David Whelan, David Orr, Mark Sweeney, Mac O’Grady and TOURAcademy TPC Sawgrass Master Instructor Todd Jones as his biggest teaching influences.
Jorge has worked with players of all levels, including those on the PGA TOUR and LPGA, European and Web.com Tours. Some of his more notable students include two-time PGA TOUR winner Jonas Blixt, Matt Every, David Lingmerth, Anna Nordqvist and Nick Flanagan.
- J.P. Guarneri, Senior Certified Instructor
J.P. Guarneri is originally from Winter Park, Florida, where he played golf throughout his high school career, and then received a scholarship to play at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. After completing his undergraduate in Business and Religion, J.P. returned to North Florida and started his career at TPC Sawgrass, where he has been working at the TOURAcademy since 2006. Some of his notable students include Brad Faxon and Kenny Know.
J.P. works with all levels and abilities from juniors to TOUR Players, specializing in instructing junior golfers. He also has played a significant role in the Pink Links Program and the Help Us Golf Junior Autism Camp.
- Jarut Padung, Certified Instructor
Jarut Padung came to the United States in 2004, where he attended the David Leadbetter Golf Academy in Bradenton, Florida. In 2007, Jarut then attended Coastal Carolina University and majored in Corporate Finance with a specialization in Professional Golf Management.
Jarut had the opportunity to work for the David Leadbetter Golf Academy teaching junior golfers at Don Law Golf Academy and also work with the U.S. Kids South Florida Tour.
Jarut became a Class A PGA Professional in 2011, joined the TOURAcademy TPC Sawgrass as a full-time instructor March 2012, and currently specializes in the Player Development Program.
